Well Hello & Happy Hump Day!

I’ve decided that I’m going to start doing more product reviews here on The Fab Life because often things get lost throughout the month and get forgotten in my monthly beauty favorites OR I just don’t get around to really explaining what I’m loving and why! So here we go…

First up: L’Oreal Paris (new) Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Serum. Let me start off by saying that one, I did get this product in a gift bag from an event awhile back and two, no-one is paying for this review or sponsoring it – it’s my honest opinion.  In truth I haven’t been doing much self-tanning since I moved to California, not necessarily because I’m always out in the sun & am getting a natural tan, but because I’m just lazy and don’t feel the need. I think I’ve maybe done my usual Jergens gradual tan routine two or three times before a Glitter Guide shoot, but other than that, nothing. In the past I’ve pretty much been loyal to Jergens OR Neutrogena (which you can read all about here), however since this product landed in my hand, I decided to try it. I’ve been feeling rather pasty (even though I’m in California, it’s still ‘Winter’ here and I’m not laying out in the sun or in a bathing suit) and I figured some of my readers who are enduring the never ending Winter might be interested in a little faux glow to perk up their spirits!

So what’s the verdict? I DO really like this product (and I’m kind of shocked)! I remember trying a L’Oreal serum tanning product a couple of years back and remembering that it was a little sticky and had a little too much shimmer/sparkle for my taste. Anyway, this was easy to apply, NOT sticky, it dried fast and color started to show up decently fast and has lasted! The smell isn’t bad at all either! The bottle says use daily for 3 days for a tan that lasts up to two weeks however for my skin tone, just applying it once or twice was dark enough for my taste. And, it has lasted for a week so far – which is pretty good in my opinion!

A few other things to note:

1. It does look like there is shimmer in the bottle and if I looked at my skin closely when I first applied it, I saw a little shimmer – but when it dried, I couldn’t see anything!

2. I did use this on my face because I don’t really break out from self-tanners or anything. Now, I’m SO curious about serums because after I’ve put this on my face, my skin has felt extra smooth! I’ve typically used lotions and oils on my face to moisturize but now I’m thinking I might need to try more serums…

Bottom Line: If you are looking for a mid-Winter pick-me up, I suggest you check this product out!
