I’m coming out of a super busy and eventful stretch so I thought I’d finally check in here. Between the usual Christmas and New Years activities, Chris and I had visits from his side of the family, his sister’s wedding and a visit from my parents. Christmas was great, the wedding (despite the pesky weather) was absolutely beautiful and showing everyone our home/life in Laguna was so much fun – but I have to admit, I’m a little exhausted – I am 30 after all. I’ve been having a good time today looking through some photos from the past few weeks so I thought I’d share a few!
Hope your year is off to a great start!
Christmas in Cardiff by the Sea
I bet $20 that Chris wouldn’t go surfing on Christmas day. I lost, but it was worth it!
My “Christmas Wish” from last year that my parents texted me. My wish came true!
Last In n Out of 2016 ^
Ojai when it wasn’t raining!
The most gorgeous post-rain post-ceremony sunset & sparkler send off!
Back in Laguna Beach to show my parents around. Lots of walking was done and drinks consumed!
TGIF! I realized I never posted any pictures from my trip back east and I figured, better late than never! My trip back east went pretty fast but it was really nice to see my family and of course I was jumping out of my skin excited for my family to meet Nellie. Nellie did really well on the flight but she seemed a little nervous (understandably). She didn’t bark or whine or cry, but she was breathing pretty heavily. We got to snuggle though and I think she felt safe with me 🙂
The weather was pretty yucky and rainy the ENTIRE time which was a bummer – it was also super warm. I think it was warmer on Christmas in Princeton than it was in Orange County. Crazy. I was worried about Nellie because she HATES the rain, but I was proud of her – she did well – and only really one accident in the house. She also got along with Milo – and when I say get along – they existed together and she was very fond of his food! I think my family fell in love with her though. We ended up decorating the Christmas tree on Christmas eve and then went to dinner at a nice restaurant in town. On Christmas day, we opened presents and then went to see Joy at the movies before coming home to play a series of games with the family which was fun. We thought the movie was ok – I was expecting a little bit more from it though!
Side note: I forgot to mention that the first few days I was back east the grinch made a few visits to my apartment and stole a bunch of packages – which I found out about because they discarded the boxes a few blocks down and a good samaritan found my number and gave me a call. Super fun night on the phone with my apartment complex security team and the Costa Mesa police department.
Anyway…back to the trip. The day after Christmas we headed up to Syracuse (in 3 cars) to visit with my Dad’s side of the family. We hadn’t been in a long time and it was so nice to see everyone again and meet my cousin’s adorable children. We had a nice stay at the Holiday Inn express (Becky, Tory Nellie and I shared a room and watched Dumb and Dumber before crashing) and then my mom, Ben and I headed back to NJ via NYC to drop my brother off.
The next few days in Princeton I got to meet up with a bunch of my college friends which was SO much fun! I’ve missed them so much. I also did some wedding errands with my mom AND drum roll…. I found my wedding dress! It’s actually my aunts wedding dress from the 70s and I’m so obsessed with it – it will be perfect for my wedding! I can’t wait!
On the 29th Nellie and I made it safely back to sunny Orange County (she was a lot less nervous and more calm this round)! We celebrated with New Year by going to Newport Beach to watch the last sunset of the year and then had Christine and Errol over for drinks and appetizers!
